d-town

It had been a long time since I’d been to Duluth with my sisters. We decided to drive up in November to do some Christmas shopping and relax before the holidays.

These are some of my favorites from our weekend!

We booked a hotel in Canal Park and immediately got upgraded to a lake view room!

After a long day of shopping we decided to hang out at the beach!

Quick stop in Two Harbors for a visit to ‘the 3 spot’ and a Bloody Mary @ Dunnigan’s!

viva las vegas!

I was in Vegas last October and am just now editing all the photos.

I went with some girlfriends to soak up the sun, shop, and to see our friend, Ms. Daniels! She’s been teaching in Vegas for a couple years now and we were planning this visit forever!

We were only there for a long weekend, but we had a blast and were lucky enough to miss the first snow storm back in Minnesota 🙂

I got the window seat on our first flight!

I love walking down the strip, it feels like you’re in the middle of a huge movie set! Everything is larger than life , over the top, and colorful.

🙂 For Sara:

There’s nothing like 80˚weather in October. And one of my favorite things in the whole world: Palm Trees!!!

These drinks from T.I. made all that walking a lot more fun 🙂

Katie’s driving tour of Las Vegas:

Since I was always trailing behind taking a million pictures, I snapped a lot of the girls, too:

All lit up!

I could stand at the Bellagio fountains all night! They’re so beautiful and fun to watch. There’s a show every 15 min. and there’s always a full audience.

It also has an amazing interior…

Viva Las Vegas!

Molly - I love the shot with the Palm Tree and Harrahs in the background. I would like a print for my new apartment.

sara montour - These make me so excited for summer! That giant sliver you got must have sucked!

photo of the week

One of my resolutions for the new year is to take a photo a day. I’m going to try to keep up with it and post my favorite every week.

These are from the first three weeks of January…

I went to Patrick’s with my friend, Yvonne. They have the BEST bakery!

I’m also trying to make more lattes at home and spend less money at coffee shops…

A couple of weeks ago I got to shoot this cute little girl! I’ve been taking her big sister’s pictures for 2 years so I was really excited to meet Aliza 🙂

She’s got pretty blue eyes and an awesome head of hair!

Check out that hair!!

I thought this would be a great sister picture to show them when they’re older 🙂

a few of my favorite things…

Welcome to my new blog! Since this is my first post and its still a new year, I thought I’d share some of my favorite photos from last year.
It was hard to narrow down the entire year into one post, so I picked images that are special to me for different reasons.

2009
January: I spent a weekend in Duluth and I couldn’t put my camera down! I’ve been there a million times, but never when the lake was froze.
Everything was sparkling and the shoreline looked like it was covered in hundreds of glass marbles. I spent the entire day at the lake and my evening at Spirit Mountain.

February: My friend Sara booked us a shoot in her hometown of Pequot Lakes, MN. We road tripped it and spent the day with Becky & Matt in Crosslake.

It was a beautiful winter day and we had blast!

March: This was my first shoot at The Guthrie. Its a great place for engagement photos and Bobby & Carrie were the perfect couple!

April: I’ve always wanted to do a fashion shoot on the State Fair grounds and Betsy made those dumpsters look amazing!

May: Memorial Day was one of the first really warm days of the year. I spent it with friends at a backyard BBQ and it was perfect 🙂

June: At the beginning of the month I took a much needed day trip to Taylor’s Falls. I took a ton of pictures on the rocks, but the drive up there is just as beautiful.

I pulled over when I saw this tree farm and its still my favorite image from that day.

My friend Yvonne has a hilarious little nephew named Ethan.

He came to town for a day so we took him to the Sculpture Garden to run around and be adorable in front of my camera!

July: A friend of mine was married in a small ceremony in his bride’s very small town of Elkhart, IA. It was a beautiful day and I’m so happy I got to be a part of it.

August: I had a week off and I spent some time taking photos for myself at one of my favorite parks.

I also have the tendency to take pictures while driving my car…

I’ve been taking Adrianna’s pictures since she was 3 years old, but this is by far my favorite session we’ve done.

She had her sassy pants on and totally rocked all her cute little outfits!

September: I LOVE the MN State Fair! I look forward to it every summer and its one of my favorite places to take pictures.

The energy, colors, and textures all make for perfect summer photos.

October: I love fall in MN and cant get enough of those last warm days of the year.

I always look forward to shooting the Davis family. We had a beautiful day and spent it a Minnehaha Park!

November: My cousin hooked me up with two amazing hair/makeup artists that were looking to build their portfolios.

We had a total of 7 models, awesome hair/makeup, wardrobe, AND a great location!

December: Home for the holidays…

2009 was a crazy year and I cant wait to post all my 2010 adventures!

sara montour - Awwww, Bee! It’s sad that BeeTour isn’t rocking anymore, but I’m so excited for you! Your blog looks awesome and I can’t wait to see all of the amazing photos you’re going to take and moments you’re going to capture. <3
