my passion

People always ask me what it is that I take photos of. My answer is always the same... EVERYTHING! I don't classify myself as one type of photographer. Shooting makes me happy whether its people, places, or things. My favorite element of photography is capturing memories. Being able to freeze a memory through my lens is amazing to me.

My ideal photo adventure is travel. I love everything about it! The experience, seeing a new place, meeting new people, the stories you bring back, and the images. Being able to capture a place in the way I want to remember it is incredible. Its what inspires me more than anything.

This blog is a place for me to share what I love doing most. My photographs are my diary. They tell a story of where I've been, the memories I've captured, and how I see the world. Photography is art, love, happiness, and my passion.

so long sweet summer

I feel like summer is slipping away from me, but I’m soaking up every last minute!

blushing bride • twin cities boudoir photography

Last week my cousin, Emily, hooked me up with her BFF for some boudoir photos before her wedding! Leah is getting married in Sonoma in three weeks and wanted to surprise her fiance with a fun gift . We had so much fun shooting these and Leah made an awesome model… Victoria’s Secret, look out! I have a feeling Patrick is going to LOVE this gift :)

Congratulations and I hope you have a perfect little vineyard wedding!

Also, thanks to Emily for being our fabulous assistant  :)

muddy waters

Of all the volleyball tournaments I’ve photographed, this is my favorite. With every jump, spike, or movement, there’s a splash!

caliFILMia

A couple months ago I posted my vacation pictures from California. This week I got my film back that I shot on the trip! I thought it’d be fun to bring some black & white film for my old 35mm camera. Its been years since I’ve used that camera so I was anxious to see the results. There’s something about having to wait and not getting that instant gratification that makes it exciting!

I also bought a little disposable water camera for my favorite day of our trip :)

trip the light fantastic

This is my favorite shot from the wedding I assisted this weekend. I think everyone should have their first dance outside, at sunset :)

brother love

I assisted another wedding this weekend and I was in charge of  taking the guys “getting ready” photos. While the girls take hours of hair/makeup to get ready, the groomsmen usually just throw on their tux’s, grab the rings, and have a drink! These three brothers were no different except for the fact the youngest was underage. We went to a bar to kill time and the bartender gave him this bottle of Jack (just for a Kodak moment). His older brothers thought these pictures would make a nice Christmas present for their mom :)

Karissa - This is a classic photo. I love it!

funny faces • twin cities lifestyle photography

I cant believe how big Aliza got since the last time I saw her. At her 6 month session she was still wobbly just sitting up, and now she’s standing on her own! I also noticed how much her personality has changed. Her expressions are so funny! Between blowing bubbles, giggling on the swings, and sticking her tongue out at me, I think I was able to capture all of her cute faces in a short amount of time!

These are the many faces of Aliza…

Brianna phelan - How cute is she? I just want to pinch her :) Love the first one the most.

surf’s up

I got one roll of film back from my California trip and its from a disposable underwater camera. I was shocked by how many photos turned out considering how much we were getting pulled under by waves!

This is my favorite.

reunion tour • twin cities fashion photography

Back in my BeeTour days it was rare for me to do a shoot without the Tour (Sara). Even though its only been 8 months, it feels like forever since we’ve shot as a team. A few weeks ago Sara was home for a visit so we managed to squeeze in a fashion shoot for old time sake. Sara’s sister needed her modeling portfolio updated and we were stoked to do it! Kyra just moved back to Minneapolis and her big empty apartment made an awesome backdrop for these photos. I’m so happy Sara asked me to come shoot this in BeeTour style! We also couldn’t have asked for a better model to ROCK that outfit! Seriously. Next time you see Kyra it will probably be in Vogue…

BeeTour lives :)
